How to Participate

The glorious Beth Spotswood.

I’m so glad you found me and would like to be part of the project. How does one go about doing that? It’s simple.

All you have to do is ask (and live in San Francisco). Most of my subjects find me and enquire… I prefer it that way.

I have to say that i live here:SF has been an amazing unfolding thing and each person I meet adds so much more to the scope and feeling. My goal for the project is to have a future show, and a book of the project that people can purchase.

Basically here’s how i live here: SF works: The only stipulation I have is that you live in San Francisco. Generally, the shoots are between 1-2 hours during daylight. Inside locations are fine but most of the shoots take place in parts of the city that you like, love or live near.

In exchange for the mutual use of your photos, mine for my project and portfolio, I will give you a disc with all of the images that you can use as you please. I just ask that you give me photo credit if you publish them. You have the right to look at all of the photos before I post them, and I will delete any in the set that you do not approve. That way I am not using any photos of you that you do not like. I hope that helps you feel more comfortable about having your picture taken.

Also, you would need to write your SF story and I will link to whatever blogs or sites you wish. I would especially appreciate referrals to people who you think would be good subjects.

Please realize that this is a purely volunteer project and I do receive many requests. I try to schedule shoots as frequently as I can, and be as accommodating as possible to your schedule, weather permitting.

    Hi there Brent,

I am a Norwegian-American 20 that has grown up in this most beautiful city in the world my whole life living in several locations throughout the city, but having claimed the Haight-Ashbury district as my own for the last 10 years. For someone of only 20 years of age, I’ve seen and done a great deal in this city as a person living their own life as well as one that strives to make others’ good as well with my social justice work. My love for San Francisco is incredible and I would love to be part of your work if possible. Thank you for doing this, it is creative and passionate people like you that make our city the wonderful place that is.

I’ve heard about this project whispered about in the Mission for some time now, but finally just sat down to check it out. I’d love to participate and share my love for this city. I’m a Noe Valley resident, pretty active in my farmers market here and I have two great vistas here that I love to share with visitors- my roof, and the peak of church and 21st. i am also lucky to live in a pretty sweet victorian here with a gaggle of lady roommates who are involved in education (including 826 valencia) and design in the city. the website i’ve linked to is my own sewing project. thanks again!
